Hey, My sixteenth birthday in in a week or two and my mom is takeing me to New york for the day. I LOVE the city!

I get to pick out dinner, and we both love sushi. I am a hugee fan of very gormet, sophisticated restaraunts but my mom likes it simpler. Can anyone recomend a restaraunt or sushi bar that they really loved, that would be very special?

we could probably speand 35 an entree, 40 at most... preferably less, but thats unrealistic haha...

& also- I love EVERY cuisine- indian, japaneese, Italian, greek, moroccan, you name it, I like it.

  1. Sushi-Haru, La Mela, Carmine's, Fresco, Nobu! Plenty of variety in NYC.

  2. There are lots of great sushi spots in NYC, but I wouldn't recommend them for a birthday party, especially at the price range you requested.

OTTO Enoteca Pizzeria is a great place to dine for large groups at $40 a person. This is not a pizzeria atmosphere; it's a real restaurant. We're talkin' Mario Batali' here! Their gelato is not lactose free (and I don't think you'll find lactose free ice cream in any restaurant), but their sorbetto is.

Asia de Cuba at Morgans is a hip spot that will also meet your price requirements.

My faves... Indian -- Madras Mahal on Lexington Ave btwn 27-28 street...good indian food (south indian cuisine is better here)..

Italian -- Max on Ave B btwn 3 and 4th St..everything is good!!

Vegan dessert..you have to go to Red Bamboo..they have the best cake and dessert..the menu for that changes daily but everything is delish!!!

  5. Sushi-Haru. Affordable. Midtown.
