hi everyone, i'm doing a powerpoint on New Zealand and have a couple questions. In it i'm travelling to Auckland, so what are the top attraction there. I have a full week to travel anywhere in New Zealand so should I stay in Auckland or go to some other place in New Zealand, if so how much money would it cost to go from Auckland to that place, and what are some fabulous attraction to view. I don't have any budget but it should be reasonable. thanks guys

  1. I heard that people in auckland are nasty and not friendly at all go to wellington instead.

  2. It depends on what you like doing.  I seriously advise going to the South Island.  Central Otago and Southland is absolutely beautiful.  Queenstown is a great place, adventure, friendly people from all over the world, fantastic food and gorgeous surroundings.  It's cool to hire a car and just drive and see where the road takes you, as long as you don't run out of petrol, especially on the West Coast, its pretty remote down there.

  3. Here are some links just for Auckland.

I guess things to see are the Skytower (tallest building in southern hemisphere I think), sailing or taking the ferry on the harbour

Kelly Tarltons underwaterworld...first place in the world to have the moving walkway under the water tanks etc.

    Losts more see the websites

  4. Where are you coming from? What are your interests?

I dont really know if you'll need a whole week in Auckland? There is the Sky Tower as in the previous answer. You can jump off that if you're brave enough. Check out their website for info and prices:

Or you can bungy off our harbour bridge. Their website is:

If you don't mind the extra travel (short flight or approx 3hrs drive) you should check out Rotorua which is full of tourist attractions.

They have alot of adverture tourism there, as well as Maori attractions... ps: they also have the geysers there which are quite smelly so be warned. For more info on that, check out:

If you would like to head the other way, there are alot of tourist attractions to the north of Auckland also. Check out:

I guess it really depends on what you're interested in.... but Auckland is definitely worth a look.
