Hello,

I have a strange problem, I am 3 month old swimmer, I am still stiff. I do it slowly and nicely, but when I pull my head up to breath on my right armpit, my feet submerges very quickly and it straightens me up as I am standing. I have discovered a workaround for that, when I am breathing I kick really fast. It works but in the end I get tired and exhausted. I cant even make one lap of a 25 yards pool. Any advice ?

  1. you eat more to get more strength

  2. you could remedy this by maintaining a streamline position. avoid raising your head when you breath. the easiest way to do it is just to rotate your head during the recovery stage of your freestyle. there should be enough space for your mouth to take a gasp of air so there's no need for you to really raise your head as this would cause your legs to submerge.

  3. this series of videos really helped me out.

  4. make your stokes longer and breathe evry 3 strokes so u can  breathe on either  side

  5. you need to work on your kicking ability its very poor if you are sinking to breath. Also bilatiral breath wich means breath every 3 dont just  breath on one side you have to breath on both sides or you will be off balance

  6. Breath 1 time in 4 strokes.

  7. float

  8. Learn how to float better. You need to learn how to sync your legs and arms together so that you won't waste too much energy.

  9. Avoid turning your head for every cycle of the arm-strokes unless you have got your arms and leg movements perfected.

I would advise on a slower and more relaxed arm pull and kick, and do several cycles, while you hold your breath, with your head in the water at all times, and facing a little forward.

Kick slower with knees slightly bent, and feet relaxed--the motion is a bit whip-like. In the front-crawl or free-style, the arm motions are very important and must also be done accurately, as they play a bigger part in moving you through the water. Watch other experienced swimmers swim this style in a slow and relaxed manner, and try to copy them.

Happy swimming, and with the correct techniques you should be swimming well within 6 weeks from today, guaranteed! Cheers!
