  1. it seems like everyone on here breastfeeds.. but i use bottles i tried with my first daughter and she wouldnt latch on and she was small and i was nervous so i gave up and started with bottles we went through every bottle out there before we found one she liked ( cheap plain bottles with the nuk nipples) with our 2nd baby (7 weeks old) i bought a bunch of different bottles to begin with and she drank out of all of them but she had lots of gas and would cry after each feeding so now i use only the playtex bottles with the drop-in and they seem to help. I didnt get a bottle warmer so cant help with that. good luck

  2. i love playtex ventaire advanced; they vent through  the bottom, tests prove they reduce bubbles, colic and such, clean easily bc both  ends come off, and if u put them together correctly they DO NOT leak....my dd preferred them strongly over avent....we bought the bottle warmer that was supp to be the best one and it was AWFUL.....besides, if you get your baby used to drinking room temp milk, you won't have a prob trying to find a place to heat one when you are out....good luck...works with my gal!!

  3. im pregnant with my 3rd and ive found that avant bottles are really good and all my friends use these, and i brought a bottle warmer with my 1st and i never used it, and i brought mine at the time from babies r us.  xx

  4. I got a bottle warmer as a gift and I used it for a few weeks and now my little one is 6 weeks old and it is put away!!! I would suggest trying the sassy mam bottled...they are bpa free (very important read up on it) and the nipples are awesome!! My little girls takes them so well they are wider more than round so she can get a better grip on them!!

  5. Ok......

I bought platex drop ins for my baby when he was using the little bottles. They work great, but, Those boxes of drop-ins are five dollars and you go through one to two boxes a week. So, when it came time to buy 8oz bottles which wasn't very long I bought Dr. browns. They are the same price as Platex. If I had to do it again I would have gone with 8oz bottles (We used the little ones for only two months), also I would have bought different bottles. I choose the Dr. Browns b/c I work in a NICU and if a baby has any kind of problem that is the bottle they use. But for a healthy baby I wouldn't buy them again. when you heat the milk up the milk rises up through the straw and leaks out the side. I have gotten use to it now, my baby is 9 months.

For the bottle warmer.... We bought ours when our baby was 6 months and I realize we should have had it from the get go. We have the munckin from target. It is nothing fancy but it works and it is easy and works fast and great. Don't buy the car bottle warmer. It works but one day I was waiting in the car on a friend to eat lunch and I timed how long it took the bottle to warm up from fridge to warm enough to eat. It took 45min!!! Don't waste your money on a car charger. If you are at a restraunt and need to heat up milk it is easiest to ask for a glass half full of hot water and heat up the bottle that way.

    Good luck and congrats!!!

  6. i used tommee tippee bottles for both my girls they were fine on these .... didnt use bottle warmer

  7. I just want to ask...why isnt breastfeeding an option? i am not being offensive but it will be the best thing you can do for your baby! You will feel really proud on your accomplishment and its so great to know that nobody else can feed your baby but you!  It also helps build immunites that they will not receive from formula....Your breastmilk knows how much and what nutrients your baby needs and changes for your baby...formula simply cannot do that...i personally would not trust any marketing product for feeding my newborn....  I would definately give breastfeeding a try...even if its just pumping the milk....it saves a h**l of alot of time and money!!! I dont know how i would cope on a night bottlefeeding!!

Anways....i use the platex drop ins..their great and very hassle free i think..alot of my friends use the bottle warmers and said they are good.. i dont see what could be wrong with them..

    All the best x

  8. I have a 10 month old and I had to end up bottlefeeding him due to BF not working out.  I have used just about all of the bottles on the market and I have found that Playtex Ventaire Advanced has been a winner for my son and ourselves.  Avent were very nice also but my son has reflux and we kept switching the bottles and nipples because we thought that it was the bottle and didn't know that it was reflux.  Playtex dropins are nice, but they get expensive.  They are brilliant if you travel a lot though.  We did use Dr. Brown's for a few months and they were great, except it was a pain when it came time to mixing because of the tube in the middle.  The one's we are using now are great and we heat them by placing in a cup of warm water.  I did use a bottle warmer in the early days and it was nice to have that option.  Really, it just depends which one's are good for you.  I would buy 1 bottle in the different styles and try baby on each one and go from there.  Good luck.
