I am totally freaking! I am just getting way in over my head. I have month old twin boys, a 6 year old daughter and a three year old son. The two older ones were hard enough, but try throwing in TWO screaming babies. Any advice? I didn't know twins would be this hard. I have a few friends that have twins, and they always tell me how easy it is. Ha, who are they fooling? I have no time to clean, take care myself---nothing! I mean, I haven't showered in three days and I'm still in my pajamas (it's 4 pm). My hubby works all day, and into the night, and is no help around the house. Help me!!

Thanks :)

  1. sounds like you need to get into a routine and onto a schedule. I have 4 kids including twins. I think I had it a little easier as I had my twins first. I never knew what it was like to have one child. I started off with two. When they were 2 1/2 we had our third and when our third was 3 we had our 4th. There are 5 1/2 years between the twins and my youngest.

I honestly didn't think twins were that hard but like I said I started with them and they were both easy babies, no colic, hardly ever cried, slept through the night at 2 months etc...

I think one thing that really helped me was having a good routine and trying to get them and keep them on the same feeding/sleeping/changing schedule.

When they are in bed at night get clothes ready for the next day for each child, have your 6 yr olds school lunch and backpack ready to go the night before. You need to get organized and learn to plan ahead.

  2. I know how hard it can be...I have 9 kids (twins in the nicu, so 7 at home). Just try to stay calm. Try to take your time while doing things, so you don't get stressed. Put you and your kids on a schedule and stay organized. Just stay strong. You sound like an amazing mother, you can do it!

  3. I'm a twin myself, and how my parents got by when my brother and I were babies was that they hired a live in au paur (spelling). I'm not sure if you would have the money for this, but it would deffinatly be a help to have a live in helper who does the cleaning, cooking, and sometimes babysitting so you can have some time for yourself.

  4. hire a nanny!

  5. Organize! Organize! Organize! Once you have a schedule down and everything in its place it will be much easier. Have you ever watched John and Kate plus 8 it is a show about a couple that had twin girls and then tried to have one more and ended up having 6! They have everything down pretty well, everything is organized and they have a strict schedule which helps greatly with kids because they know what to expect. As for the two older kids, have them help you out. They are great helpers. The six year old can help with lots and lots of stuff.

Your friends may manage twins well but they probably dont have two other young kids to add to the mayhem. Just relax and tell your hubby you need a break before you break.
