Newcastle United face further injury scares as the club expects star players Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba to miss the crucial Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew confirmed that the club’s injury woes have worsened as he prepares to face North London’s Tottenham Hotspur without some of his most important and effective squad players.
The Magpies begin their Premier League season with a game against Tottenham Hotspur at the Sports Direct Arena this Saturday. Pardew is however not looking forward to the opening day clash as he could potentially be without star players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884, Yohan
Cabaye and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812.
All three players are major doubts for the game, and perhaps only a miracle would see them back in the side before Saturday.
Ba, Cabaye and Ben Arfa join the likes of midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote and captain Fabricio Coloccini on the injury list. Both players had received knocks in Newcastle’s final pre-season friendly, which they lost to Cardiff City in a 4-1 score line.
Another striker out injured is Senegalese sensation Papiss Demba Cisse, who had just finished an impressive pre-season tour with the club.
Pardew is however a little optimistic about the fitness of some of his players, especially with Coloccini, who eased worries regarding his absence from the side and stated that he will be fit and ready to lead the team against Spurs this Saturday.
The Argentine is also featuring for his national side this week against an international friendly with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. The player is looking to get back to full fitness, and believes the international game will help him do that.
Alan Pardew now faces the prospect of choosing a starting eleven to face the impressive squad that Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has assembled over the summers.
Speaking to the press, Pardew said:
“Nobody was rested on Saturday. Ben Arfa has a slight knee problem which definitely keeps him out of the first week.”
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423 is not right in terms of work he has done. We are hoping to get him up to speed and get him involved on Saturday.

“Papiss has got a slight hamstring we think he will recover by Tuesday or Wednesday. Demba has a shin injury which he has carried for a week or so. So we took him out of the game on Tuesday.”
