Newcastle Unied’s Steven Taylor delighted with a draw at Stamford Bridge – EPL News
Newcastle United defender, Steven Taylor, has expressed his delight after grabbing a draw against Chelsea from the jaws of defeat. The tie took place on Sunday, May 15, at Stamford Bridge and ended 2-2, much to the disappointment of Chelsea manager, Carlo
Ancelotti.
Newcastle found themselves behind on two occasions and both time http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Branislav-Ivanovic-c7994 put the home side ahead in just the
second minute. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 almost scripted victory for Chelsea in the 83rd minute but an injury time equalizer from Taylor spoiled the party at Bridge.
The defender was all praise for the entire Toons outfit, who were splendid in spite of knowing that the final result mattered for little. Taylor claimed that his team went out with victory on their mind and was pleased to get a draw out of their last away
game of the season. He remained calm when quizzed on his current form and reckoned that it was all down to pure luck. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 U-21 international grabbed his second goal in as many games.
The 25-year-old added, “The lads got a well deserved draw. I think they put great effort in today and the lads deserve that. I was just in the right place at the right time I guess.”
Taylor further mentioned that both teams were up for the contest and those who turned up for the game certainly got their money’s worth. He hoped that the Magpies would carry the same sort of momentum in their last game against West Bromwich Albion.
Taylor further praised the intensity of the game and concluded, “The tackles were flying in. It was a good little contest but we took the game to them and I think they expected us to come here and defend. We have West Brom next week at St. James’ Park and
will look to finish on a high and then look forward to next season.”
