The two sides have finally reached an official agreement for the transfer of France international, Loic Remy to Saint James’ Park in a move that will cost the Magpies 10.5 million Euros
For the first time in his playing career, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130, the striker joined OGC Nice before sealing a move to Stade Velodrome, home of
Ligue 1 giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, which has now turned out to be Remy’s last Ligue 1 club for the time being.
Indeed, it has been confirmed that the striker has joined English Premier League strugglers, Newcastle United. Although Les Phoceens might have been reluctant in selling the player last season, the situation has changed a lot since the beginning of the current
campaign.
Between his constant injury worries and then late night outs, Remy had failed to convince manager Elie Baup who now prefers to use Andre-Pierre Gignac as his main striker while young http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Ayew-c19098 deputises him.
However, it was Newcastle United who were very keen on signing the striker especially after the recent sale of Senegalese international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew’s side that is currently mired in
serious relegation troubles.
Reports have claimed that Les Phoceens and the Toon have reached an agreement for an amount of 10.5 million euros for the transfer of the striker. And, this information has been confirmed by Marseille president, Vincent Labrune. While talking to RMC, he
said that the two clubs have reached an agreement in principle.
“We have an agreement in principle with Newcastle, it is true. It was therefore allowed to Loic to talk to them. For the rest, wait patiently.”
And apart from a coup de theatre, it is clear that the Frenchman will join Newcastle.
Joey Barton, who is currently playing for Marseille, also wished his now former teammate best of luck for his time at the club.
“Good luck to Loic at Newcastle. Do not worry, I’ve already told him what to expect there. He is a good guy. He will be perfect for the club,” said the controversial midfielder on his Twitter account.
After http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682 (signed from Lille), Remy will be the second Ligue 1 player joining the Magpies this January.
