Newcastle United looking to bring in Kevin Doyle
Newcastle United have finally shown interest in trying to bring in a replacement for Andy Carroll, who parted ways with the team in the January transfer window as part of a 35-million-pound switch to Liverpool.
Newcastle were believed to be looking to land a player on the same day when Carroll moved to the Reds, but it seems like they are now going to wait until the summers to bring in a replacement. At the moment, the team has lined
up Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle as a potential replacement for the player.
The 27-year-old forward is currently playing his second season with the Wolves and has been one of the most consistent players in the league over the course of two seasons that he has spent with the team. Prior to his move to Wolves,
the player was the stand out player at Reading for a good four seasons and it was his fine form, which saw him make him the move to Wolves from the Championship side.
Alan Pardew is eyeing the player only because of the unstable condition of the Wolves. The team is on the brink of relegation. Should that happen, then the former Cork City striker will be more than happy to stay in the top flight
with another team.
What is going to make this move even more real is the fact that Doyle is going to cost Newcastle peanuts when compared to the 35 million pounds that the club inherited in January.
The Ireland international scored the winning goal as Wolves went on to defeat Manchester United, this past weekend. The impact that the player has on the side is worth admiration. Despite not playing for a top club, his name is
one that is almost always associated with the highest of levels.
However, the amount of freedom that Doyle gets within the team is what really sets him apart. Doyle is often seen helping out the defence and the midfield, when he is not playing upfront. All in all Doyle is a player that almost
any football powerhouse would like to have amongst their ranks.
Doyle has scored 15 goals for the Wolves in 62 appearances that he has had with them, while managing to score a total of 96 goals in the 248 appearances in his club career as a professional footballer.
A move for Doyle is being termed as a rather intelligent one by almost every football expert out there. This is because if a move is made for the player, then he is going to cost the Magpies around nine million pounds, which in
the transfer market these days is considered to be a steal if anything.
It is going to be a wait until the summers to see which team eventually ends up landing Doyle. However, that being said it is safe to say that regardless of his destination, he is going to continue making a name for himself.
