Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew planning to bring new faces in summer transfer window
Newcastle United tactician Alan Pardew has revealed that he is planning to make some drastic changes in the team by bringing in new faces in the coming summer transfer season. After losing their firepower Andy Carroll to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809
in the January transfer window, Newcastle is keen to strengthen their forward line through new recruitments.
Newcastle had been reluctant to make heavy investments in January. The proof of that is just two signings; one of injured, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884, who has been
playing for Newcastle on loan from the French club Marseille since August 27, 2010. The latter signed a four-and-a-half year contact with Newcastle United on January 5, 2011.
The 49-year-old manager, while sharing his views on the next transfer season, said, “I'm as sure as I can be that we will (get the funds). We are in plans and negotiations with a couple of players out of contract in the summer.”
Newcastle are themselves to blame for the poor January transfer season, as most English Premier League clubs strengthened their squad by signing fine players. The Toon, on the other hand, sold their key player Andy Carol on the
last day of the transfer window.
They have also failed to bring in the replacement of OK Shefki Kuqi. Apart from that, Alan Pardew offloaded players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 on loan, a move that has weakened their
squad further. Ironically, now Newcastle are suffering badly due to a large number of their players being injured, while others are unavailable.
The manager was unhappy when they lost Andy Carroll to Liverpool for £35m, since the striker is considered to be one of the brightest prospects of the game in the Premier League. Now however, Pardew is optimistic that he would
be able to get the funds from owner Mike Ashley in case they end their English premier league campaign by finding a top-flight status.
Newcastle United are currently 11th on the Premier League table with 36 points, only six points ahead of Wigan Athletic, who are placed on the bottom of the relegation table.
Alan Pardew spoke to the media about the club's potential plans, “Mike Ashley doesn’t want to put his investment into this club to come here and lose games and be abused. I know Mike Ashley this well-there’s no point him paying
for me and my staff to fly around Europe if he had no interest in buying players. Some of the expense is phenomenal.”
The former West Ham United and Southampton manager, Pardew joined Newcastle United by replacing Chris Hughton, when the latter was sacked rather controversially on December 6, 2010. The new manager however, admitted that he has
a lot to offer to Mike Ashley’s team and he has the ability to meet the critic's expectations in future.
