Newcastle United rumoured to be making a move for Adriano – Barclay’s Premier League update
Newcastle United are rumoured to be looking to make a move for Brazilian forward, Adriano. The striker was signed by Roma at the start of the season and his three year contract with the team will get terminated soon. As a result, the forward has now become
a free-agent, with Newcastle hot on his tail.
It seems like if United are to make a move for the forward, it is going to be at the end of the season. However the team is looking to land some sort of an agreement with the player prior to the official contract signing in order to avoid any other team
landing his services.
The 29-year-old Brazilian powerhouse is going to be coming into the side to be an almost direct replacement for the striker Andy Carroll, who parted ways with the team to join http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. Newcastle received thirty five million pounds from the English forwards
sale to the Reds but it seems like they are looking to replace the striker at minimal cost.
Nonetheless, during the course of his career Adriano has shown more than enough glimpses of brilliance that he possesses. The forward has the ability to win aerial battles, hit pile drivers from range and can clinically finish the ball when in front of goal.
The striker has also managed to have his fair share of problems when it has come to drug and alcohol abuse.
The player, who was on a three year contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, was considered to be unapproachable by the Premier League based team initially. However with the player’s contract having gotten terminated, it now seems like a move to St.James Park is more than a
likely possibility for Adriano.
The striker came forth and confirmed his parting of ways with Roma by stating, “I wish to make it known that I reached an agreement for an amicable early termination of the contract that was expected to last until June 30th 2013.”
Newcastle will probably be looking for other potential targets in the transfer market and the team will also be simultaneously looking to finalize a wage plan for Adriano. There will be more emphasis on the striker’s wages, due to the fact that Adriano can
at times be a ‘drama queen’ and in order to avoid that, the team will try and wrap things up as smoothly as they can.
While landing the striker at the end of the season is currently the most talked about possibility, there is also a faint hint at something more drastic happening. Some sources are also reporting that Newcastle will be looking to bring the striker to the
club, within a week by offering him a three to four month contract. Once that is complete, the team will look to tie down the player on a long term deal at the end of the season based on how his short spell with the club works out.
