Newcastle United’s Gabriel Obertan eager to face his former club Manchester United – EPL News
Newcastle United winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Obertan-c14324, has claimed that he is eager to face his former employees, Manchester United. The Frenchman has insisted that he will try his best to get a positive result for the Magpies at Old Trafford.
Obertan failed to make much of an impact at Manchester United since completing his switch from Bordeaux in 2009. The 22-year-old joined Newcastle United on a five-year contract for an undisclosed transfer fee at the start of the season.
Obertan has been a revelation at St. James Park and has become a vital member of Newcastle United’s team, which went unbeaten in the first 11 league matches this season.
The Frenchman, who has appeared in 10 league matches, missed the last two fixtures due to injury, however, the 22-year-old has been declared fit and is now desperate to go head-to-head against his former club next weekend.
Obertan is relishing the prospect of playing at Old Trafford and is hopeful that the Magpies will get a positive result.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 under-21 international told the reporters:
"It'll be a great feeling to be back at Old Trafford - hopefully we'll win there. I spent two amazing years there, so it'll be great to be on the pitch at Old Trafford again. Hopefully, we'll get a good result there - it would be really, really good. It's
all about Newcastle getting a good result now."
Newcastle United experienced their first defeat of the season against Manchester City last weekend. Despite the first loss, Obertan has asserted that the Magpies are brimming with confidence and have the quality and strength to upset Manchester United in
the next Premier League meeting.
"So far, we have played some great football. Our confidence is really high, and there's no reason why we can't go there and get a point, or even three, if we play like we have before," Gabriel Obertan concluded.
Newcastle United are currently placed fourth in the league standings with 25 points from 12 matches.
