Newcastle United’s Hatem Ben Arfa out for the season with yet another injury – EPL news
Newcastle United winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884, has suffered yet another injury which has ruled him out for the rest of the season. The youngster looked all set to make a late comeback from injury but all his hopes were dashed after complaining of a minor niggle
in the same area while training.
Ben Arfa had suffered a double leg break earlier in the season, which had left both the youngster and the club disappointed. He went through the required rehabilitation period and finally got his injury healed just before the end of the season. The Frenchman
was delighted to be back in training and was looking forward to have a couple of games under his belt before the season closes.
After complaining about the niggle, the winger had scans run on his leg which confirmed his unavailability for the remainder of the season. This has left the French International utterly disappointed as his dreams of making a comeback have been put to bed.
The 24-year-old made a loan move to St. James’ Park from Ligue 1 outfit, Olympique Marseille, in 2010 but played only four games before being sidelined with a long-term injury. He bagged one goal from those four appearances and won his manager’s trust, winning
a permanent contract with the Magpies.
Newcastle manager, Alan Pardew, confirmed the youngster’s injury and hoped that the player would return sooner than later. He wished to see the winger playing for the Toons next season and therefore decided not to risk him with only a few games left to play
in the campaign.
Pardew concluded by saying, "We think that's probably not going to happen now. He's had a little setback. That's what happens when you come back from that sort of injury, so I think that's unlikely."
The former Lyon player has made eight International appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 thus far, scoring two goals in the process. Ben Arfa would hope for an early recovery in order to be back on the training field.
Newcastle United are currently 12th in the League table with 41 points and are left with three games to be played in the 2010/11 campaign.
