Newcastle United bolstered their chances of a Champions League place next season, by beating Stoke City 3-0 in a Premier League match at the Sports Direct Arena on Saturday.

Stoke started the game brightly and were presented an opportunity in the tenth minute. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Walters, who failed to find the target with his volley.
However, in the 14th minute, the hosts grabbed the opening goal of the game. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 jinked past Wilson on the left flank and delivered a cross towards the far post. Cabaye nudged the ball in from the rebound, after Cisse’s header was denied
by the woodwork.
Four minutes later, the Potters had their backs against the wall as Newcastle struck again, through Cisse.
Cabaye provided a wonderful through pass for the Senegalese striker, who calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, to score his eleventh goal of the season.
Newcastle dominated the proceedings from there on, courtesy of a superb midfield performance from Ben Arfa and Cabaye.
Both the teams went into the dressing room for the halftime interval, with the score at 2-0.
After the break, the Magpies started where they left off and almost claimed the third goal in the opening minute of the second half. Ben Arfa played a probing cross from the right inside the box, which found http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812. The leading goal scorer for the Toon
failed to assume total control of the ball, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Asmir-Begovic-c6841 stepped up to make the clearance.
Cisse then put the ball in the back of the net for the second time in the afternoon, but his goal was disallowed as he was caught in an off-side position.
However, the third goal arrived only minutes later. A good interplay between Ben Arfa and Ba set up an opportunity for Cabaye, who availed it by curling the ball into the bottom corner of the goal.
The last few minutes of the game saw Begovic make a couple of good saves, which proved to do nothing more than damage control, as the Magpies cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win and broke into the top-four of the league table.
