Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has been boosted by the return of midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote, who had been out of the team for the opening month and a half of the Premier League.
Tiote has been instrumental in Newcastle’s success over the past season and helped them finish fifth in the league in their last campaign. The holding midfield player brings tenacity, steel and a physical presence in the midfield for Newcastle, and is considered
one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Tiote suffered a calf muscle strain in Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur and has been on the sidelines trying to recover and regain his fitness.
The Newcastle manager believes that his team will benefit from the return of the Ivorian powerhouse and insists that he’ll bring back the steel in midfield that they have been missing since his injury. The Magpies have not been at their best since they lost
out on the player, and have only managed one victory in the league, which came against Norwich City this past weekend.
The player is expected to be fit for the midweek’s clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford for the Capital One Cup fixture, and Pardew can’t wait to see him play again.
Newcastle have not been convincing and have failed to replicate the form that saw them defy expectations last season. Then again, the team has been without most of its first team players, and has struggled in midfield and at the back.
Speaking on the player’s return, Pardew said:
"We need to get him back in the team as quickly as we can, and I think he will feature on Wednesday. He gets a grip of a game and you can start to dominate with somebody like Cheick. You have to have a platform to play.”
"He puts other teams on the back foot in many ways. He's a fantastic player and one of our most important players.”
"Drive, passion, a determination to win whatever he is doing, whether it's table-tennis or a game of football, and an ability that many players can't reach. He is a fantastic player."
