Newcastle boss Alan Pardew hopeful about preserving club’s Premier League status
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has warned his side that they must start producing results if they want to ensure their Barclays Premier League survival this season.
The Magpies currently lie just four points clear of 17th placed Wolverhampton Wanderers. In a campaign which has already provided so many surprises, manager Alan Pardew believes that the battle against relegation will
go down to the wire. However, Pardew is keen to ensure that his side doesn’t get caught up in the dogfight come the end of the season.
They haven’t done themselves any favours with their dismal performance against Stoke City last Saturday, when the Magpies were thrashed 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has warned his players that they will
have to shape up if they want to stay in the Premier League.
Pardew said, “We can't get ourselves down about the Stoke game because we've got to make sure that the character and the fight in the dressing room comes through now in these last eight games.”
Newcastle United have to face the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in their remaining games, and unless they can start producing results, they could very well find themselves in the bottom three before all is said and
done. However, Alan Pardew remains optimistic about his side’s chances.
The Magpies have already shown phenomenal character with their 4-4 draw against Arsenal a few weeks ago. They were 4-0 down at half time, but managed to produce a remarkable comeback to force a draw. Alan Pardew is hoping that his
players can show that sort of fight in Newcastle’s remaining eight games.
The Newcastle boss said, “I think we've got enough in there to do that but we've got to make sure we do it quickly. We don't want to get ourselves in that dogfight with three or four games left to go. So in the next four games we need to get those two results
that will see us home.”
