The Toon are currently sitting at the fifth spot in the league table and need to finish in the top six, in order to secure a place in the Europa League next season.

Pardew told The Mirror: “We have proved this season by breaking into the top six that we can be a force in the Premier League and we have laid foundations that I hope can keep us at the top end of the table in future years.”
The 50 year old pointed out that the club’s owner, Mike Ashley wanted to make Newcastle a self-financing organization, and it was inevitable that they would need to sell some players in the summer.
Talking about Andy Carroll’s move away from the Sports Direct Arena, the Englishman admitted that the fans had apprehensions over the decision. However, he highlighted that a massive 35 million pounds fee that they got for the player in January 2011, has
helped him build a strong squad.
He revealed that the club’s policy is aimed at spending minimal money on buying new players and to financially strengthen the club, in order to compete with the top teams in the Premier League.
