Newcastle United end their pre-season tour with a draw against Turkish side Fenerbahce after a fine goal by Mehdi Abeid was cancelled out by a late equalizer by the Turks.
Newcastle were held by the Turkish side in their final game of the pre-season tour which took place at the Sonnenseestadion in Ritzing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844. Fenerbahce grabbed a last minute goal that cancelled out the strike from youngster Mehdi Abeid and helped the
Turkish side salvage a draw.

The team had produced a very impressive performance and looked set to win the match until http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-c9491 Baroni struck for Fenerbahce just a few seconds before the final whistle.
The Magpies line up featured a returning Fabricio Coloccini, youngster James Tavernier and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 started the game, leading the Newcastle
front line.
The Premier League side enjoyed a fair bit of possession and created a decent amount of chances but Fenerbahce looked equally threatening with Brazilians Christian Baroni and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 creating problems for the Newcastle defence.
Cheick Tiote was ever present in the heart of midfield, making challenges and breaking up the opposition attack as if it were a cup final game. Coloccini and Tiote stood out as Newcastle’s best players on the pitch.

make an impact.
New boy Gael Bigirimana and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Davide-Santon-c10658. Abeid had an instant impact and scored a fine close range goal two minutes after his introduction.
They continued their pressure from there onwards and came close to scoring another goal courtesy of a volleyed effort from Shola Ameobi. Cisse also had an opportunity to extend the lead but saw his shot saved by the Fenerbahce keeper.
Newcastle looked to be on course to their second win of the pre-season tour but were denied by Baroni’s last minute equalizer. The goal turned out to be the last kick of the game as Newcastle ended their pre-season campaign.
The Magpies had a decent run and will return back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in order to train and prepare for the coming Premier League campaign.
