Newcastle United have the perfect opportunity to potentially go level on points against Arsenal, while Liverpool will be desperate for a win against Norwich City.
The Barclays Premier League season has been full of twists and turns and there could be a sting in the tail as well as a number of sides find themselves fighting for places no one expected them to be when the season began.
Wigan Athletic v Newcastle United – 3:00pm Kick-off
The last of the 3:00pm kick offs sees Wigan Athletic host Premier League highfliers, Newcastle United at the DW Stadium. The home side will be looking for win in order to avoid dropping into the relegation zone as they now have a narrow one-point cushion
over Bolton Wanderers who sit in 18th place.
Bolton have a game in hand, which means that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 will be desperate for three points in order to avoid playing in the Championship next season. Their recent win against Arsenal will have buoyed the side, yet their fight for survival is far from
over.
Based on recent form Wigan stand a great chance of coming away with a win after getting all three points in four of their previous Barclays Premier League, however, Newcastle United have been on absolute fire as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 currently sit in third and have three points more
than Newcastle, though the latter have a game in hand which means that the race for third go down to the wire.
If Newcastle do manage to finish third then that means that they would automatically qualify for next season UEFA Champions League, which will be a huge achievement for the club.
Norwich City v Liverpool – 5:30pm Kick-off
Liverpool have had a torrid time in the Barclays Premier League since lifting the Carling Cup halfway through the season. Their recent run has seen them lose four of their previous six matches with the Reds only managing a draw and a win in between.
Kenny Dalglish and his side will have one eye on the FA Cup final next weekend, yet his immediate attention must fall on their meeting against Norwich, as a win for the home side could see them go level on points with the Reds.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 back to the squad after he was rested in last week’s loss to West Brom and the talismanic skipper will need to be on the top of his game if the club want to grind out any kind of a result.
As for Norwich, well the club will be looking for a win that could take them all the way up to eighth place in the league and since they have nothing to lose, one can expect an interesting game of football.
