Newcastle manager Alan Pardew believes Blackpool deserve to stay in Premier League: EPL News
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that newly promoted Blackpool deserve to retain their Barclays Premier League status. The Toon boss recently oversaw his side’s 1-1 draw at Bloomfield road, and he believes that the Tangerines have put in enough
effort throughout the campaign to earn their place in next season’s Premier League.
The match at Bloomfield road could have gone either way, as both teams gave it their all in a tightly contested affair. The hosts arguably had more at stake, especially since they were languishing in the bottom three prior to the match. However, Blackpool
showed the spirit of champions to battle their way to a much deserved point.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew believes that the draw was a great result for his side, given the circumstances. Blackpool were undoubtedly the better team on the night, a fact that even the Toon boss had to admit.
Speaking after the match, Alan Pardew heaped praise on his opponents, saying, “There's a big part of me that wants them to stay up (in the Premier League) for the integrity and the honesty of their work. They gave us a real test today. They were better balanced,
I thought they passed it better. “

He added, "Their intensity was higher and if they can take that into the last four then they'll give anybody a game as they've proved."
The point has all but ensured that Newcastle are out of the relegation battle, but Pardew has warned his side against complacency. He wants the club to target a top 10 finish in the League this season.
Pardew said, "Our motivation is a top 10 finish and we have four contrasting games. Two tough away and two at home you'd like to think we have got a good chance in so for us it's pleasing that we go to (the next game) http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 with good energy. “
Newcastle have now moved up into ninth spot in the Premier League standings.
