According to reports, the Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eljero-Elia-c12318 in the summer, despite his failure in landing the Dutchman to the Sports Direct Arena in his previous attempt.
 
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 player, turned down a possible move to Newcastle last year, and instead opted to join the Serie A side, Juventus on a four year contract. However, the 25-year old now regrets his decision, as he has failed to play any major role in
the White-Blacks league triumph this season, making only four appearances since his move in August.
"I want to leave Juventus. I want to enjoy playing football again. I remained quiet all year and was always positive towards the club and the team, but I never got a chance to prove my worth," Elia was quoted as saying by
Algemeen Dagblad.
Before arriving at Turin, the Holland International made 63 appearances for Hamburg and scored 8 goals in the process, while picking up 11 assists. Besides, he has also represented the national team on 26 occasions.
However, his lack of playing time at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 meant that he also failed to impress the national selectors and subsequently missed out on a place in the squad for the upcoming Euro 2012. Elia mentioned that he was disappointed on not being considered for the
eagerly anticipated event and termed his current season a complete failure.
“I didn't play much and consequently miss out on Euro 2012. It's fair to say this season has been a failure. It's really hurt me, but I've become stronger mentally.”
The Magpies, who are still in with an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season, are in search of an attacking winger on the left side, a position currently assumed by the striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812. Given the club’s need coupled with Elia’s
apparent disquiet with his current employers, the player’s move to Tyneside is expected to go along smoothly in the summer.
Elia added, “I'm 25 now and I still have a long career ahead of me. I came from far, but I will have to start all over again.”
