Newer moms, what do you do when it's bathing suit season and you need a swim suit?

I gave birth 7 months ago but my stretch marks aren't going away. They're a real problem on my outter thighs and hips/ buttox area. What type of bathing suit flatters someone with a larger bottom half than an upper half? I have a small chest, small stomach, but downward on, it gets bigger. I don't want to look flat chested, but I don't want to show off my big butt and my Linea Negra that never faded. I feel like I have to stay inside all summer because of my mommy body :(

  1. look on target.com, they have some cute swim suits for cheap. i got the one thats a one peice, but it has material just in the front, the back and sides are open. wear a pair of swim shorts to cover stretchmarks!

  2. I went to a water park and was wondering how other moms deal with it.  I too have stretch marks that are never going to go away.  I also have a small chest.  My lower half is a size 5, so not big, not small.

All of the moms wore what ever they wanted and there were no ugly stares.  It was like we had a special bond.  I saw moms wearing tankinis, monikinis, one pieces, and bikinis.   Some were very fat and they wore t-shirts and shorts.

    Who cares?

  3. maybe you should get a swimming suit with shorts bottoms.. what i do is wear my bikini top with a white wifebeater<sp? over it and wear swimming shorter shorts that just cover my inner and outer thighs and hips area... plus it looks really cute together and the wifebeater will cover your linea negra! :D having a mommy body is beautiful because it shows you are strong.. dont be so upset about it... you are a mother now! its one of the greatest beauties in life!

Good luck and have a wonderful summer momma!

  4. i stay clear of the water.. lol

  5. Well, I may have not been a mom yet, but you want to accentuate the upper half of you, so I would get a pretty push-up  swimsuit top, and for the bottoms, i would invest in a matching or similar pair of  board-shorts, if you can't find anything else that is remotely similar, find a black pair, you know that will always match. Trust me, because when I got scars on my legs and stomach from a certain infection, I was self-conscious about what I looked like in a swimsuit, but be sure that you don't get the kind of shorts that are too big in the legs and hips, you want to hide it, not add attention to it, and get the ones that are long enough to hide what you want hidden. If this doesn't make sense, feel free to contact me at chinabear62092@charter.net .

  6. Don't be ridiculous.  Every single stretch mark should be worn like a badge of honor.  It is a testament to your struggle to bring life into this world.  Don't be ashamed because you don't have a teeny bopper body anymore.  Your body was going to lose that youthful appearance eventually, so you might as well have an excellent reason for it (the baby).

I personally do a tummy tucking one piece and a swim skirt.  I sort of go for the Pin-Up girl look.  Like vintage swim suits.  Then it looks like I'm being trendy, but really, I am dressing my body to it's best advantage.  I even wear the pointy sunglasses and everything!  It's s**y, sort of Betty Paige, but it also doubles as good coverage.

My suit is sort of similar to this:

  7. I have one that has a bathing suit skirt with it,I bought mine at wal-mart.It would be perfect for what you are looking for.Check out wal-mart.com you will find a bunch there.

  8. Go to glamour.com and find the body type closest to yours, they show examples of suits that fit you and hide the trouble areas you don't want to show. I definitely recommend buying it from target because they sell seperates so you buy the right size for you on the lower and bottom pieces.

  9. Board Shorts are really popular this summer for women... go buy a pair and then find a bikini top to match... simple as that. Check out PacSun (I know it is a teenager store, but they have some cute stuff in there for grown women too!) Good Luck! Remember to protect your stretchmarks from the sun with a good spf or they can get worse... try jergens natural glow lotion to get a nice warm glow to your skin! You will look great!

  10. After having my first child and gaining 65 pounds, i got large amounts of stretch marks. The best thing for me was the boy cut shorts bikini. They don't make your but look big and hide the marks on your inner and outer thighs.

  11. Oh I am having the same issues. I got a bathing suit at Target. It is a tank top (covers the whole tummy) and bikini bottoms. My tummy area is what I wanted to avoid showing. I recommend going and trying on all sorts of different kinds. That's what I did and I found one that I can use. Good luck!

  12. either keep wearing your old pregnancy suit or get one of those shorts bathing suits, they squeeze everything in.

PS Going to the beach is ALL ABOUT showing off your big butt.
