Newlawn Tock makes the Shelbourne Park debut in the 2012 Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 8
Newlawn Tock proves out to be the most credible entry for the 2012 Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 8. The 550 yards flat race will be held at the Shelbourne Park on Thursday, 2nd August. Not only has the four-year-old been consistent
lately rather he has been drilled just recently which gives him the edge to outperform today.
Black Shaw’s blue dog has not raced at the Shelbourne Park before and has raced predominantly at Cork race course. Newlawn Tock started racing in 2011 and since then has lost only two races out of the nine career attempts.
The four-year-old got trained just once at Cork over 574 yards on 5th May, 2012. The Cusack trained timed the track distance in 28.39 seconds. The training was sandwiched between two wins and led to the success in the second and third leg of the
career hat-trick. The initial race for the qualification fell in the previous season.
On 15th June, 2012, the four-year-old blue hound won a 547 yards race at Tralee. He got crowded first and then led from the second position, concluding the race in 27.13 seconds and winning by the margin of two lengths. He set Blakes Cash as the
runner-up of the race.
After stumbling to a third position, the blue son out of, Newlawn Boomboom, struck a back-to-back.
Newlawn Tock won the Red Mills Open on 30th June, 2012 at Tralee over 499 yards. Setting into an early pace after leaving the first trap and then leading from the third spot got him the race in 26.88 seconds. The four-year-old won by the margin
of 1 ½ lengths and had Matching Tommy finishing right after.
Lined up for giving a hard time to Newlawn Tock in the €250 race are Ferdia Oscar, Razldazl Bugatti, Power Of God, Cabra Millie and Patterdale Rocco.
The 5 to 1 entry will need to look out for the three-year-old, Patterdale Rocco, who has been in a victorious composure lately and has been drilled by the trainer, Mounsey, too.
Holding on to the winning composure and the performance will tick the clock the quickest for the four-year-old.
