I know that I havent been the best in getting all of my proteins in iron but part of that is because i'm not sure what i should be eating every day. any advice on the types of things i should get lots of? And just how much?

  1. Just make sure you're eating lots of vegetables and fruit.  It's definitely possible to be a vegetarian and still not eat enough veggies!  It's pretty unlikely that you're not getting enough protein, but make sure you're eating lots of leafy green things to get iron and other good things.

  2. Don't worry there isn't any relationship between vegetarianism and colds. If you're eating healthy foods and a balanced diet you're going to be fine. You really don't need much to replace meat. Meat is supposed to be a small part of a healthy diet anyways for meat eaters. If you're completely vegan you need to make sure you're getting B12 in your diet.. but none of this will give you colds unless you're seriously malnourished yourself and your immune system is weak. Good luck though and don't throw in the towel. Read up on it. There are plenty of sites, books and vegetarians willing to help.
