I have ground turkey that says freeze or use by 7/23/08...is it ok to use? LOL cooking is NOT my thing. My husband (the cook) is at work, my mom is out for the weekend, and my sister is not answering her phone. Is it ok to eat? (Cooked, of course...I may not know a lot about cooking, but i do know you have to cook meat!) Thanks!

  1. You can use it if you got it out of the freezer.  If not throw it away.

  2. If it is not frozen. Do not use it. Meat only lasts a day or 2 past it's sell by date. Throw it away!

  3. Since it was frozen then yes you can eat it but don't try to re-freeze the leftovers.

  4. If it's been frozen the whole time, and you cook it thoroughly, it should be fine.

  5. Was it frozen?? Open it if it wasn't and take a sniff. It is probably nasty smelling. That was 2 weeks ago!!

Or better yet, don't open the package, just get it out to the dumpster.

  6. well was it in the freezer...??? You usually tell when meat is spoiled it smells sour...

  7. If it's frozen than it is completely ok. frozen meat lasts up to 6 months in the freezer. Just make sure to dethaw it thoroughly before cooking it.

  8. yes,you can eat that, put the frozen meat in the

kitchen sink, wait for couple of hours, until your

    husband gets home.

  9. Well if it was frozen and you just defrosted it then i would say yes its ok to eat. But if you just bought it i would say no. hope this helps

  10. If it was frozen by 7/23/08 then YES it is ok to thaw in frig, and cook and eat. :-)

Your meat will always last a long time in the freezer as long as you freeze it within the time it specifies. Meat can last up to three months in the freezer. :-)

  11. Yes, as long as you freeze meat by the expiration date you can keep it 6 months or so. You can also freeze the COOKED ground turkey; if you have leftovers, but do not refreeze any raw meat you don't use tonight.

    Happy cooking =)

  12. If it's been out of the fridge for a while, don't eat it.

If it looks an odd colour, or smells unusual, don't eat it.

If its airproof container has been open a few days, don't eat it.

Mind you, if your hubby hasn't minded it being around, he might reckon it's okay.

I'm not recommending you to eat it, but if you do try, COOK IT THOROUGHLY!

    Hope it works :)
