Newmarket Flyway is likely to win the Magners Standard Trophy - Heat 1 at Nottingham in England on Monday, March 26, 2012. The winner of the Grade OR event will walk away with a cash prize of £125.
The flat race will definitely test the stamina of the greyhounds, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 500 metres. Following are the entries confirmed for the event: Newmarket Flyway, Loyal Legacy, Bowtime Regan, Penrhiw Guto, Bower Impact and
Cavecourt Derry.
The bookies have full confidence in the abilities of Newmarket Flyway, who has a very good record at Nottingham. He seems to like the conditions at this venue, thus the punters will be interested in placing maximum number of bets in his favour.
R. Gray’s trained runner was unable to make an impression in his most recent race, as he finished fifth overall. However, his second last show at Nottingham saw him finish on top of the table.
Out of his last three races at Nottingham, Newmarket Flyway has managed to win a couple, whereas he finished runner up in the other. He has the rhythm to match the best in the business.
The black dog is the son of Droopys Scolari out of Newmarket Way and was born in December 2009.
On the other hand, Loyal Legacy has also got decent chances of winning the race today. He is in superb form at the moment, thus the bookies have given him decent odds for winning at Nottingham.
A. Stone’s trainee has been doing a pretty respectable job recently and his most recent run also saw him winning by a comfortable margin. He also likes the conditions at Nottingham, thus he will give a tough time to today’s favourite hound.
The white and black dog is the son of College Causeway out of Previous and was born in July 2009.
Bowtime Regan, trained by J. Sharp will also cause a few problems for the rest of the pack, as he has been in great form recently. He managed to win three out of previous five races, thus the punters will rate him highly.
The white and fawn dog is the son of Ballymac Ruso out of Killough Belles and was born in March 2010.
The rest of the runners might not find things easy today, as they are not in good rhythm at the moment.
