There are a lot of quality shops around.  Try Frog House near the Santa Anna River Mouth on PCH in Newport, or any of the shops along Main St or 5th St in Huntington Beach.   You might want to check out Rockin Figgs on Main Street about 2 1/2 blocks up from the Pier for good local custom boards at reasonable prices.
