Newport Gwent Dragons bring in new players – Rugby News Update
Newport Gwent Dragons, a team that plays in the RaboDirect PRO12 have announced two new signings of Ospreys' winger Tom Prydie and Scarlets' fullback Dan Evans.
Both are young players who have had an indifferent season for their respective clubs but they are looking forward to the new challenges coming in the new season. Both the players are looking for consistent game time, as they want to develop their respective
abilities.
One person who is excited at them joining is the Dragons' director of rugby, Robert Beale, who said, "They both show a lot of promise and I am looking forward to working with them over the coming seasons."
Dan Evans, the 23-year-old Fullback who is equally adept on the wing is joining from the Scarlets, where he only played 14 times during the season. Evans has two Welsh caps to his name, making his debut on May 30, 2009 against Canada at Toronto, and playing
his last game in the same year against the United States at Chicago. He will want to reignite his career with the Dragons.
Tom Prydie is equally excited at joining the Dragons and after penning a contract with his new club, he said, "There is a lot of potential at the Dragons and hopefully we can be very competitive next season."
"I'm really looking forward to the new challenge that signing with the Dragons presents," Prydie said. "I've worked with Darren [Edwards] before and felt I learned a lot from the time I spent with him. I really enjoyed the experience so am looking forward
to getting involved in a new environment down at the Dragons next season."
Prydie, is a 20-year-old fullback who can also play in the centre for the club, making his switch from Ospreys. He is an upcoming star of Welsh rugby, having represented the country 4 times internationally. He made his debut against Italy at Millennium Stadium,
on March 20, 2010, playing his last international match in the same year against New Zealand at Hamilton, on June 26, 2010.
Both the players have an excellent opportunity to kick-start their careers once again and they are joining a good team in the Dragons.
