Newquay, Im going there... Is it good?

Me and my mates are going to newquay in a couple of weeks, is it as good as i have heard?

We went there last year with our little boy who is handicapped. i took him to a toilet by the beach, and found 3 used needles on the toilet floor.that was enough to put me off ever going back, plus it was not the nicest resort i have ever been to. We went to Cornwall again this year, and chose a place quite near to Polperro, which was absolutely gorgeous, and we are going back there in september, because we loved it so much.

I can understand now, when i see people on here telling you not to go to newquay, because they are right, there are nicer places to go to in Cornwall. newquay is noisy and loutish, and i for one won't be going back there.

If you're in to surfing, then Newquay is brilliant, but that's about all. It's not the nicest resort in Cornwall, and YES it is full of druggies and dropouts, and seems to attract the dreggs of society. (us local people call it "sin city")

It's brash, loud, and touristy, (a lot like Blackpool, but with a better coastline) However, it's a magnet for clubbers, and youngsters looking for a fun time, and if you behave yourselves, and just enjoy yourselves, you should be O.K.

It's pretty much like any other town centre on a Friday night, and the police will be out in force. If you are under-age, forget trying to get into the clubs, and pubs, as there has been a MASSIVE clampdown on underage drinking, and fake I.D. cards are now checkable.

Have fun, keep safe, don't pi$$ off the locals, and steer clear of the low life, and you should be O.K. All I can say is, I am glad I live 30 plus miles away from Newquay, so am a safe distance to enjoy the better things about Cornwall!!!
