Hey, im off to newquay on holiday in 2 weeks and was wondering if anyone knew what kinnda things there are to do. Im 17 and going with my parents and 3 friends (all 17 aswell.)

Apparently theres a great nightlife, but iv heard that therve been cracking down on underage drinking? I look easliy 19-20 so are there any clubs/ pubs/ shops i wont get ID?

If not, does anyone know of any exsistent underage nightlife?

What about during the day? The beach is ment to be really good. But chances are living in britian the weather an't gunna be good everyday. Anywhere good to go during the day? I meen around town like, NOT stuff like going long sea front walk, trips to the zoo etc.

Thanks for reading :D!

  1. You've got no chance love!!! Newquay is one of the worst places for underage drinking (or at least it used to be) These days, the police are out in force, and I.D. cards are scanned for forgeries. If you don't look 21, you WILL be asked for I.D.

It's not fair on the staff of clubs, as it's not just the owners, and licensees who get into trouble, it's ANYONE caught serving underage drinkers, all face hefty fines, hence the clampdown. Most of us who live in Cornwall, hate Newquay, it's known as "Sin City" by us, and it lives up to it's reputation. It's not the prettiest of towns, and it's just as dangerous for youngsters as any other busy town, at night.

I have a nephew who lives there, and I have to visit him from time to time. I cannot wait to leave Newquay, as it's full of druggies, dropouts, and new age travellers, especially this time of the year, and yes, the beaches are lovely, WHEN they are not strewn with used needles, and broken bottles, used condoms, and food waste. I cannot understand just WHY people go to Newquay, when so many gorgeous parts of Cornwall are a much safer option!!!
