News Anchors Please?

How did you get your job out of college? Did you go to random news facilities and request a position? How do you know where to go and where to apply? I'm curious as to what the process is. Thanks so much.

I've known a few of them over the years. Mostly they got out of school and worked as reporters somewhere, anywhere. Then they got the chance to anchor a broadcast, usually a little-watched show on the weekend of at 7 a.m. If they are good, they get a better chance to show their talents. And they move up the ladder.

At the beginning, those people checked the help wanted ads in trade publications, wrote letters, begged, etc. Sometimes lightning does strike.
