News Says Fertility treatment does not work??? i am on clomid!!! Plzzz answer this i am soo down now...

Please can someone just read the news.. this does not give us 'TTC' ers any hope or make us feel better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! surely it does work tahts y so many of u are pregnnat after TTC for years ??!!!!!!!

I got pregnant on my first round of clomid, so I would say it does work, I don't know what they are talking about....where did you here this? Give us a link so we can look. Clomid worked for me...so don't worry...it does work for some ppl.

I have read it and dont believe its a conclusive result.

They had 600 women in the study who had been trying for more than 2 years. 600 women in the great grand scheme of things i dont believe are a true representation.

I still will want to be prescribed clomid... i have PCOS and am not ovulating... so how will no intervention suddenly make me pregnant???

my best friend went on Clomid and got pregnant the following month.... I don't care what anyone else says - I believe it works!

I think what it is these people they tested had unexplained infertility meaning every thin was fine but just havent concieved. clomid makes you ovulate so if you don't ovulate there is no way u can get pregnant so clomid does helps it makes u ovulate (that is what the drug is for.). These People they are talking about can ovulate already so the drug prob wont make much difference. So it not really that fair.

lol, i just read that bit where it says about that they split groups of three into people having intercourse naturally and the other with clomid, the other with IUI.

I had to laugh to myself because are these all groups of people that have nothing wrong with them??

I mean maybe i read it wrong, but people with fertility issues this is there only chance of becoming pregnant.  And how many women & men have gone to fertility treatment being there only hope of becoming pregnant do end up having families...?

I think thats its all Bo$$ocks.

I hope that my side of thinking has made you feel more positive!!! Because my only chance of conceiving is through the help of drugs like clomid etc

my sister was TTC for 10 years with no luck, She had irregular periods. she was put on clomid and on the 3rd try she got pregnant! she had a baby boy 3 months ago.

.a lot of people conceived with clomid!

I saw the this and i feel the same as you!! Not really sure how they can say that it doesn't work because some people would never have got pregnant without taking clomid depending on what the cause of infertility was so i'm not really sure whether its correct or not. I'm about to start clomid as well in about a week!

I was asking about clomid but now i will never consider it. I think the best idea is just to BD all the time. I read the news in the uk Sun newspaper, they said IUI wasn't very effective either.

Now i see that other media has this story, there must really be something significant in it.

They say that people were conceiving more trying naturally than those who were on clomid!  They change their minds all the time on these sort of things.

I tried for 2 year and in my eyes by some sort of miracle I found out I was pregnant the week before I got my appointment for the Infertility Clinic.  Taking Clomid isn't going to do any harm at all and I think (this really is my personal opinion) that when you have something like that it takes part of the stress away and lets you conceive easier ( where as prev you would constantly think what the h**l is wrong with me...counting down the days till your period and things) But this is a helping hand and by sorts you relax slightly! And they do say relax and don't think about (pfffttt) it will happen...in a sense that's what I believe!

My sister got pregnant after her first round of Clomid and is having her 20 wk scan next week, she had been trying for 2 yrs before she went on it, then 1 month later and she's pregnant just like that, that must be proof it works as she tried for 3 yrs with an ex bf abour 7 yrs ago.Don't believe all you hear, keep positive, best wishes.
