News Update: Chelsea
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that star striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 will bounce back from his recent dip in time when Chelsea play Arsenal. The Ivory Coast striker has failed to find consistency and health this season, but displayed signs of his brilliant
self in Chelsea’s recent draw against Spurs. Drogba had the perfect chance to grant all three points to his side, when he was awarded an injury time penalty against the Spurs. The player gave the ball right into the hands of goalkeeper Gomes and the match
ended in a 1-1 draw.
However, the Italian manager believes that Drogba would return to his best when Chelsea travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal. Earlier in the season, Drogba opened the scoring for the defending Champions, which was topped off by a brilliant Alex
free kick at Stamford Bridge and a similar performance can see Chelsea return to the summit of the title.
"We need Drogba to come back to the performances he had last year and the goal against Tottenham was very good for his attitude. I understand he has not been in a good condition. He had difficulty to play with malaria, he was tired, he was not 100 per cent
and he found it difficult to train,” claimed the Italian coach.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are in the worst form in nearly a decade, as they have not won a premier league fixture in 9 games. The side had a comfortable 5 points lead from the start of the season and decimated sides almost at will. Yet, the side lost their 13 hours of not
conceding a goal at Stamford Bridge to Sunderland, when Steve Bruce’s men won 3-0. Chelsea also lost to Birmingham City and Newcastle United, which led to them being 2 points shy of leader Manchester United in the premier league.
“I put him in the last few games even though he was not 100 per cent because we need to have his character and his personality. Now his condition is better. He had a good reaction after coming on as a substitute in the last game, this is the important thing
and following the goal against Tottenham he will show us a different Drogba in the next game," stated Ancelotti in his defence for his star striker.
