“News of the World” all set to take part in ICC hearing
There is a high probability that all the people involved in the recent spot-fixing investigations will appear before the International Cricket Council’s hearing in Doha, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Qatar-c2986. In regards to this the tabloid “News of the World” is gearing up to take part
in the hearing.
However, it is believed that there are going to be some sort of restrictions on the tabloid from reporting the proceedings of the hearing in order to avoid any controversies before the final judgement.
News of the World is the tabloid that launched a sting operation to reveal match-fixing taking place in the Test series between England and Pakistan.
Later, this tabloid made its findings public and shocked the World of cricket. There was video evidence linking Pakistani players with a bookie named Mazhar Majeed. The main deal was that Mazhar would give money to certain Pakistani players (Salman Butt,
Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif) and the players will bowl no balls and wide- balls deliberately.
As soon as the players did what was promised by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 Yard then started its investigations into this new founded corruption in the game
of cricket.
The Anti-Corruption Unit of the International Cricket Council had no clue of this event and that spot-fixing had taken place right under their noses.
Later the International Cricket Council imposed indefinite suspensions on the accused players. While Mazhar Majeed was released on bail, the Pakistani players were interrogated by the Scotland Yard and later they were flown back to Pakistan.
This debacle brought the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board under scrutiny of the International Cricket Council and the Pakistan Cricket Board was given a new stricter code of conduct for its players to play under. The Pakistan Cricket Board immediately adopted the
new code of conduct making the players sign a new code of conduct without any hesitation.
Meanwhile, the suspended players were barred from using any facility that was the property of the Pakistan Cricket Board. This meant they were no longer allowed to enter the Cricket Academy either.
The players made an appeal against their suspension, the hearing of which took place in Dubai. The International Cricket Council rejected the appeals of the players because the ICC did not find that it had neglected any rules and regulations in suspending
the players.
Soon after, the Pakistan Cricket Board suspended the central contracts of the suspected players as well. The Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 made it very clear that the board was not interested in helping the players fight their legal battle against
the International Cricket Council.
The players were instructed to hire their own lawyers to defend their innocence.
The International Cricket Council has taken its time in gathering evidence that might prove the involvement of the three players in spot-fixing, which will result in complete banning from the game of cricket both internationally and domestically. If such
a thing happens, it will ultimately put the careers of the players to an abrupt end.
