  1. ask them its ez

  2. I can understand your fear of needles and therefore the scare of becoming a surgeon. But needles is just one part of becoming the surgeon. What about blood, cuts, wounds? Are you scared of them too? If your will to become a surgeon is strong enough, I'm sure you can overcome your fear of needles for the sake of your career. But even if you can't try studying such a field of medicine in which there is minimum/nil usage of needles. Good luck with your career!!

  3. Not a big deal.  I'm a doctor - just happened to find this site tonight.  I'm glad, 'cause I can give you an honest answer.

Are you afraid of GIVING needles?  If you are just bothered by GETTING needles, it really isn't a big deal.  At my university (University of Toronto in Canada) we don't practise on each other.  The only time one's person fears are relevant is when you go to your own doctor/nurse and then it's just embarrassing, not problematic.

    Always be nice to nurses.
