Next book or book series I should read?

I've been reading the Ender Quartet, Bean Quartet, Tales of Alvin Miller series and Empire by Orson Scott card and the Secret Histories series by Simon Green.

I'm looking for another series, preferably, or a standalone book that would fit in that kind of a collection. Something that is well written and makes you think. Young adult is acceptable as long as it fits the factors above. Also something that isn't mainstream.

  3. I'm not sure of what kind of books are your style but I'm fixing to start reading the Alex Cross series by James Patterson...the first one being Along Came a Spider...He's a real good Author.  He actually has several series of books out.

  4. You might enjoy some of Neil Gaiman's work - Neverwhere, American Gods and Anansi Boys are all good.

Also, have you read Dune, by Frank Herbert?  It's a classic.  You might enjoy some of Heinlein's work, although it can be uneven.  The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is a good one to start with.  Charles DeLint is another good writer similar in ways to Simon Green.  Check out any of his Newford novels.  Sheri S Tepper writes some interesting books - Grass is a good one, as is A Plague of Angels.
