Next step in growing tobacco

Question

I grow my own tobacco. I have some pretty nice leaves. What are the next steps for drying it and preparing rollable cigarette tobacco?

I do not have an answer..outside of Foxfire boks in which I will look up...I would like to know how,,you grow your own and how ya get seeds to start...I will check foxfire and let ya know ..

Cigarette tobacco is not aged the same as pipe or cigar tobacco. ( in general ) Cigarette is mostly Burley which I assume is what you have. The leaves should be cut, tie the stems toegther in bundles of 10-20 leaves. Hang in a well ventillated protected place until dry but not quite brittle. It is then ready to be cut or shredded. For the home grower you can use a food processor with the medium or fine shredder blades.

Ther are different curing methods for tobacco like pressing and fermenting to develop different flavors but these take practice.
