Next year for already registered kids?

When your kid was in first grade this year, and is going to 2nd grade next year do you go on the new student registration day to find out what class they are in and see the bus # or does your school have a seperate day for that?

Our elementary school has a special new student orientation day for kindergarteners and a different time for returning students. Bus numbers are pretty much unchanging from year to year. And we usually get a letter in the mail about what teacher our child is getting.

Our elementary school has a set date for the parent and child to come by. They post the lists of already registered students and their new teacher/room assignment. Its an open house style thing and you go find your class room and meet the teacher. At that point we get a supply list and the list of extras each kid is responsible for. i.e. tissues, paper towels, wet wipes, etc. these are things the school board can't afford to supply but the class still needs.
