Neymar wishes to make the Chelsea move in 2011
The newest Brazilian sensation, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior
or just Neymar, is reportedly disappointed at his failed move to Barclays Premier League Champions Chelsea FC.
Neymar made his senior debut with his childhood club of Santos in 2009. The youngster has become a first team fixture ever since with his breathtaking array of tricks and flicks on display week in and week out. Such performances have earned him rave comparisons
with Brazilian legends Pele and Ronaldinho. At just 18 years of age, Neymar has already made his debut for the Selecao.
Scouts from Continental giants are always hunting for talent in the Brazilian Serie A and the talent of Neymar didn’t go unnoticed as interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea FC, Internazionale and Manchester City continued to rise. Real Madrid went as close as
claiming a pre-contract agreement with the players’ agent. Santos was left furious with the news and the club vehemently denied such rumours and also slapped a 30 million Euros price tag on the player.
Neymar for his part signed a contract with the club that will last till December 2014. The latest deal made Neymar one of the highest paid players in the league. Towards the end of the transfer window, Chelsea FC approached the club having met the asking
price only to see their offer rejected. Legends like Zico and Pele advised player to stay in his native Brazil for at least two more seasons and the youngster duly took their advice.
Neymar has been criticised by the media for his poor attitude and public feuds with the coach Dorival junior saw the tactician lose his job. It remains to be seen whether the clubs will retain their interest in the player in light of recent events.
Neymar however wishes to make the move as early as next season, “It would be great playing for Chelsea, I am certainly excited about it. It would be an absolute honour playing for them. Everything they have to offer is of interest to me, they have big players,
they play in big competitions and above all I like the way they play”.
Neymar has made it clear that he has no problems with his present club; however, he needs a European move to further his career.
