Ngoni navigator & tactician Tim Burnell hails crew for their performance: 2011 Region of Murcia Trophy
Great Britain’s Soto 40 series team Ngoni have been outstanding from the beginning, as they took the lead from Day 1 and still hold it after Day 4. The team are certainly challenging Iberdrola
Team’s dominance over the class and have the capability to claim 2011 Region of Murcia Trophy title. The navigator and tactician of Ngoni, Tim Burnell is happy with the crew’s overall success.
With three first places and four second places after Day 4, Ngoni is currently leading the score board with 11 points while the 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit leader, Spain’s Iberdrola Team
are following them with 16 points. Burnell believes they have had a wonderful experience so far in this tournament and the crew has done a superb job.
While speaking to the local media at the end of Day 4, Burnell said, “It has been such a fantastic experience for us all. There was no pressure on us at all and three of us had never been
on a Soto 40 before far less this one, but Gerry Mitchell on the main really does a great job driving the boat, he keeps Kevin the helm honest and looking after the boat speed and he has also really helped us.”
He further added, “By and large we have put the boat in the right spot and we have sailed absolutely clean, we have stayed out of trouble.”
The British team is proving themselves worthy of the ultimate glory, as they have nudged Iberdrola Team down quite easily from the beginning. They are surely capable of ending Iberdrola
Team’s reign on Audi MedCup Circuit.
