Nguyen Huu Vie captures Men’s 200m breaststroke title– Vietnam Swimming Championships
Nguyen Huu Vie of HPG captured gold medal of the Men’s 200m breaststroke on last day of the 2012 Vietnam Swimming Championships at the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, September 16.
Vie continued his alluring efforts in the four lap breaststroke discipline as he went full rampant and reached the medal rostrum for gold medal of the discipline.
He remained a full body length ahead of his toughest challenger and touched the wall for the title of the event by posting an effort of 2 minutes and 24.38 seconds.
The champion was followed by Huynh The Vi of HCM, who remained 0.86 seconds behind and snared silver medal of the race by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 25.24 seconds.
Vi enjoyed an advantage of one and a half body length over his following swimmer, Nguyen Van Tha of DNG, who completed his swim in third best place by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 26.67 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Nguyen Tien Hu of QDI, who remained 0.15 seconds behind and settled on the wall as fourth best finisher by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 26.82 seconds.
Fifth best finisher of the event was obtained by Phan Gia Man of HCM, who remained one and a half body length behind and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 28.23 seconds.
Subsequently, Man remained almost four seconds ahead of Nguyen Van Nha of CTO, who remained prominent for sixth position of the event by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 32.66 seconds.
Nha was followed by Truong Minh Gi of LAN, who stayed 2.17 seconds slower and submitted a time of 2 minutes and 34.83 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth best spot of the race was obtained by Vo Minh Dung of Q1, who remained almost five body lengths behind and posted a time of 2 minutes and 40.04 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Vie received massive admiration from the crowd for his unmatchable pace in the distant breaststroke discipline and collected his medal after the event.
