Nguyen Ng Huyn secures Men’s 200m butterfly gold – Vietnam Swimming Championships
Nguyen Ng Huyn of DNI secured gold medal of the Men’s 200m butterfly on last day of the 2012 Vietnam Swimming Championships at the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, September 16.
The 17-year-old Huyn stunned the aquatic crowd with his fascinating efforts in the four-lap butterfly discipline as he went on a rampage to secure gold medal of the discipline.
With his immaculate efforts in the 200m discipline, Huyn managed to outperform his toughest competitor over the finishing blockade and transpired on the finishing blockade for gold medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 07.21 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Chau B Anh Tu of DNG, who stayed 0.30 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing wall as second position holder by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 07.51 seconds.
Anh Tu was followed by Tran Duy Khoi of HCM, who was 1.40 seconds away from overpowering his former finisher and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 08.91 seconds for bronze medal.
Subsequently, fourth place of the race was secured by Pham Hien of QDI, who remained one body length apart and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 09.91 seconds.
Hien was followed by Phan Lam Yen of HCM, who was 0.64 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and hit the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 10.55 seconds for fifth position.
Yen remained three and a half body length ahead of Do Van Hieu of LAN, who surfaced on the finishing blockade as sixth best finisher by producing a time of 2 minutes and 13.98 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Thai Quang Min of HNI, who was nearly 15 seconds behind and hit the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 28.73 seconds.
Min was traced by Nguyen Duy Thi of TBH, who was 0.31 seconds apart and concluded his race in eighth best place by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 29.04 seconds.
In addition, Nguyen was overjoyed with his top finish in the race and claimed that he would try to achieve the same in future events.
