Nguyen Tien Minh eases into Men’s Singles second round of the 2011 Vietnam Open Grand Prix
Vietnam’s top Men’s Singles shuttler, Nguyen Tien Minh eased into the second round after he put up a good show to beat Indonesia’s Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in the first round of the 2011 Vietnam Open Grand Prix, at Ho Chih Minh city, Vietnam, on Tuesday,
August 23.
The top seed, Tien Minh, who is currently enjoying Number Seven spot in Men’s Singles world ranking, did not waste his time in the court and finished the match in straight sets by taking just 30 minutes. He emerged as the winner without facing any problem
from the Indonesian shuttler in both sets.
In the opening set of the match, the local hero opened his campaign against Hiren Rhustavito in tremendous fashion as he quickly secured a wonderful lead in a flash. He remained in magnificent control of the bird and was dictating the pace of the rallies
in an impressive way.
Tien Minh’s improved skill and aggressive approach made him perform on a higher level against the Indonesian shuttler, who was trailing behind throughout the opening half of the set. Until the interval, Tien Minh was leading the game with the score of 11-6.
After the break, the top seed in the Men’s Singles draw remained on the right track by playing at the same high speed. He was moving in the court with an incredible pace as he was taking the bird quite early which gave him many choices to place his strokes.
He won the first game with the margin of 21-12, in 17 minutes.
In the following set of the match, the top seed again dictated the pace of the rallies and kept his challenger moving all around the court. Tien Minh was playing top-class badminton against Hiren Rhustavito and won the second game. He remained far ahead
throughout the whole set and finished it with an impressive score of 21-8, in just 13 minutes.
This Men’s Singles first round battle ended in 30 minutes with the concluding result of 21-12 and 21-8.
