Nh police scanning ?

hey this is a question for anyone who lives in nh or knows a lot about it especially nh police officer and trooper, here is my question

Does anyone know anything about the new digital police radio frequencies?

and do you know when most departments will be switching over to digital frequencies as opposed to analog?

thanks please serious answers only anyone who gives me a real answer will receive points!!!

  1. Most of Minnesota switched over about a year ago.  It is/was a gradual process, but once it happened (if you owned a scanner) you knew that it had happened right away.  You got nothing but silence.  It was very frustrating at the time because the new digital scanners weren't available yet.  but now they are and the price seems to be coming down a bit.  If you want to know specifically about NH, and you don't have a scanner, you can either ask a cop, or go to Radio Shack and they will be able to tell you for sure.


  2. They would be switching actually to a trunking system in which uses user ID's which use the nearest available open channel minimizing the frequencies needed for dispatch. As far as scanners go, you're going to need a BCT15 or something close to it in order to be able to hear good traffic and not parts of it.
