It helps that Jari and Reggie not only knew how to score goals but their centremen (Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Clarke) had a knack for finding them on the ice.

As I recall from our conversation in march, Clarkie said Leach was coaching a team on an Indigenous rez in Ontario these days.

Reggie Leach and Jari Kurri had 19

You never hear much of Reggie Leach today because he was drunk but who wasn't into something or another in the 70's, and by the way Leach scored 61 goals in the regular season that year

Probably one of the most important stats in hockey that is playoff goals but since Leach was an alcoholic that stat simply gets ignored year after year.

On a side note legend has it that Leach was bombed the night before an afternoon game vs Boston in the 76' playoffs. Prior to the game teammates found Leach recovering with some healers at his pad and the rest is history as he went out and scored 5 goals.
