Niagara Falls, NY Cave of the Wind?

Question

I was planning a trip to Niagara Falls in a few days but I have read a lot about the Cave of the Winds and the Hurricane Deck. The deck is not open in April so I was wondering if anyone knows if it is as fun now as it is when the deck is open in the summer and what they do during the April month because none of the sites say anything about it.

Most of the attractions will open this month or in may. They do not want to risk anyone being injured by falling ice and stuff like that. There are some things to do on the canadian side. Journey behind the falls is open all year round and that gets you pretty close. The best may be to call the attractions if you can get numbers off of their sites. We normally go the first week of june because the weather is nice and it is not too busy yet. Enjoy your trip!

Getting that close to the falls lets you feel the power of it.  It really is an amazing 'feeling'.  I live in the Niagara Falls area, and Cave of the Winds is one of the places I recommend people visit while they're here.  AND if you go out to Goat Island you can stand closer to the water than you can on the Canadian side.  They have the nicer view, but on the US side you get a better experience of the waterfalls.  (at least I think so)

The decking is removed each fall and re-installed each spring for sightseers to enjoy the experience.
