Nice, white sandy beach on the Amalfi coast?

We are due to go on holiday to Sorrento this year and have heard that the beaches there are made of black volcanic sand or pebbles. Does anyone know of some nice white sand beaches within driving distance of the town? Anywhere within about 25 miles would do! Thanks!

  1. no the sand is yellow in this part of italy, there are few places with white sand...  enjoy italy, i'm italian

  3. with it being a volcanic area nearly all the beaches from naples down to calabria are black or pebbles...

    if i remember rightly the beches at paestum are yellow... i always go to the beach at maratea... ideal for snorkling
