I had my hair highlighted a few months ago, but the highlights are way too blonde for me, in an attempt to fix it i used nice and easy non permanent dark blonde hair colour that last 24 washes i liked the colour result but it washes out really quickly (in about 3 weeks or less) and is getting annoying to have to keep redoing it, i was thinking of trying the permanent version but was wondering if the colour result would be the same as the semi? Im 16, so i dno if it wud b gr8 to pernantly die my hair, but the thnk the colour is pretty much the same as my natural colour so it myt b fine? Please help as im stressing over my hair as i want it to be perfect for wen i start college :)

jst to recap the questions are -

1) is the permanent colour result the same as the semi permanent?

2) should i go permanent or just keep using the semi untill the highlights have grown out?

thnks x

  1. my experience with permanent color is not good, it usually ends up brassy after a week or so, and my hair feels brittle, permanent color is more damaging. I have always used the semi permanent, make sure you use a shampoo and conditioner that is for color treated hair that will help it last longer

  2. I had highlights two weeks ago and didn't like it either.  I used a nice and easy, it was ok, but I wanted it darker and more permanent.  If you ring the number on the Nice and Easy  box and tell them what you have used on your hair and what colour you want to be, they are really helpful and tell you which shade to use, and how to do it.  I used them once before for a similar reason and the end result was perfect plus they sent me a voucher. It will definitely be the best way for you, they are experts, and take the time to sort it out for you. good luck

  3. Hi no the permenant colour is not the same, and the nice and easy semi permenant actually last longer than the permenant ones as the nice and easy permemant ones wash out and fade really quickly, they are a load of rubbish, I would go for an semi permemant hair dye over the permenant version anyday.

You can try it but you will find it being the wrong colour and not covering the highlight properly at all. so just stick with that you know is the best colour for your hair as it will only last the same amount of time and the semis are more kinder to your hair as they wash out rather than stick to the hair etc so its easier to change hair colourings.

  4. colour should be the same, its just how long it last.  the semi will wash out whereas the permanant will grom out so you will still need to re-do it if you want to keep it, but if its not really a permanant style just use semi till the highlight grow out

  5. I suggest permantly die your hair. I am going to do that next week, so it will be fresh before school starts. However, here are some tips before dying hair. Let your hair rest for a minumun of 24 hours. That means no gel or hairspray in your hair. Also, when your in the shower only shampoo, dont use conditioner. Conditioner makes your hair greasy, believe it or not.
