Nice place to eat on the A30?

I'll be traveling from Bristol to Cornwall via the A30 in a few weeks time. Usually I wouldn't stop but this time I want to stop for a nice pub lunch but not too far off the A30.

Any suggestions?

  1. the hollands in is qiute nice on the main a30 but my favorite is crooked in same on the a30

  2. Try Oliver's Cornwall as that seems to be a really informative page about everything to do with Cornwall and the best pubs to eat in, some of them look like they are very close to the start of the A30 as well as lots all the way down the A30, have a fab time.

  3. How about stopping for a meal at the notorious Jamaica inn, Bodmin Moor. They serve a great meal, and it's a very interesting place to visit. Have fun in Cornwall.

Lindybug has also come up with a good one, The Crooked Inn is where my in-laws always stop off for a meal when they come to visit us.

  4. I would recomend a dual carriage way section so you will be safe from becoming roadkill.....

  5. I assume you will only hit the A30 when you come off the M5 at Exeter if so follow the main road till you see the first turning to Tavistock follow the road for about a mile and there is a pub called the Highwayman nice place very unusual and very old good food as well. Back on the A30 join the queue have a great time.
