Nice places to live in Derby, UK?

Question

My hubby and I are thinking of moving up country and wanted to hear from people who live in Derby to find out where the nice places are to live there. Would also be great if you could give us some names of places to avoid!! There's nothing like local knowledge!! Thanks very much!!

lol i agree! i was just about to say that. Not that nottingham is a great place to live but its better than derby!

there is good and bad areas spotted all around derby .

like you could say avoid sinfin, but parts of it are fantastic ..

to be honest. if you house hunt, you should get a general feel for the area, by the streets and neighbours

and the estate agents are pretty honest as to which areas to totally avoid

why don't you try breaston nr derby it's semi rural and a real nice village  i have lived there for over 30 yrs now don't think i will move from here we have we have 3 pubs 2 churches 1 chemist 1 dentist 1 post office and a small supermarket and 2 deli shops both are brill
